This has got to be one of the most dreaded days of the year for many women. There are several levels of dread involved, as well. First is the pain. I find that the pain of mammography is mostly anticipatory and, while the procedure is uncomfortable, it passes. The second level of dread, of course, is also anticipatory (as all dread is, I guess. Is this then, redundant. I hate to be redundant), and involves the "C" word (no, not THAT "C" word). Let's call it the "ca" (medical abbreviation). In this, too, the dread is most often worse that the reality. I'm talking myself into it, ladies. We must all get this done and we must all be brave. I won't quote Mr. Churchill, but you get the idea.
